Rocky Branch Elementary School
Rocky Branch received the 2011 Gold Award for Highest Percentage of Student Meeting and Exceeding Standards. There are a total of 623 students in the school with a 16.66:1 student teacher ratio. The school also have a very active PTO which sponsors 10 fundraising events per year. PTO Committees include Media Center, Class Liaison, Yearbook, Book Fair, DA$H, Vision/Hearing Screening, Staff Appreciation, Fine Arts, Coupon Books, Red Ribbon Week, Grounds, Family Spring Picnic. Extracurricular activities include chorus, dance, drawing, multimedia, science/technology, and yearbook.
Malcolm Bridge Middle School
Malcolm Bridge Middle School (MBMS) hosts interscholastic teams in ten sports (five for boys, five for girls) and compete in the Northeast Georgia Athletic League, along with Russell, Winder-Barrow, Haymon-Morris, Westside and Oconee County Middle Schools. The sports include basketball, cross country, football, soccer, track & field, softball, and volleyball.
MBMS also sponsors a number of club sports, including golf and tennis, as well as cheerleading in both the fall and winter seasons. In the tradition of the rivalry between NOHS and Oconee County High School, MBMS maintains an athletic rivalry with OCHS feeder school Oconee County Middle School as well as minor rivalries with Oconee County private schools Athens Academy and Prince Avenue Christian School.
North Oconee High School
North Oconee High School (NOHS) is the local public high school zoned for Vintage Farms. NOHS consistently rates highly in academic standings. NOHS is ranked in the top 2% of schools nationally and as the top school in SAT and ACT scores in Northeast Georgia.
NOHS also hosts a plethora of extracurricular sports teams including baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track, volleyball and wrestling. There are 42 student organizations your high schooler can participate in – some of the more interesting include art club, chess club, dance club, step team, drama club, knitting/crochet club, and young republicans.
According to the demographics from the Georgia Department of Education, approximately 87% are White, 4% Black, 4% Hispanic, 3% Asian, and 2% are mixed ethnicity. About 25% are enrolled in the gifted program and less than 1% are enrolled in remedial education. Over 65% of graduates are eligible for the Hope Scholarship. NOHS has approximately 80 teachers. About 73% hold Master’s Degrees or higher.
